Mental wellbeing toolkit from Coram
Being educated in core life skills early on gives children the best chance of developing the resilience, confidence and practical skills to navigate life. Coram Life Education, Coram Beanstalk and Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation have combined their expertise to design a free mental wellbeing toolkit for primary schools. There are 5 sections to this toolkit, consisting of a collection of circle time, talking points or class activities reflecting the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, adapted by the NHS for mental wellbeing. Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation has designed warm up drama activities for the whole class, Coram Beanstalk has developed book lists and book chat questions, and Coram Life Education has devised ideas for ‘SCARF’ time and lesson plans based on inspiring pieces of writing.
The pack is very flexible and can be adapted to your children's needs as well as time available. It has resources and activities for KS1&2. You may choose to deliver the toolkit during children’s mental health week, or use the resources across the academic year.
