RSHE Statutory Guidance for Secondary Schools
A webinar providing a comprehensive overview of the updated RSHE guidance for secondary schools
Webinar overview
In July this year, the 2025 RSHE Guidance was published, giving schools until September 2026 to implement the changes to their current provision. The 2019 guidance remains statutory until next September, although schools may choose to update their curriculum and approach in line with the 2026 guidance now if they wish.
This webinar has been specially designed to:
- Recognise how the RSHE statutory requirements relate to your school
- Identify what new principles and processes the RSE statutory guidance requires your school to adopt
- Identify what you are expected to teach in Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education
- Understand how Sex Education might be defined and what parents can withdraw their child/ren from
- Understand how SCARF supports you in implementing your statutory requirements
Webinar Presenter
Gareth Cheesman has been facilitating relationships and sex education for over 15 years. Since specialising in relationships and sex education, Gareth has worked across private, state and alternative education schools. He has worked as both a classroom educator, a school staff trainer and a parent & carer workshop facilitator. With a Masters in Public Health, he has strong experience in understanding the evidence base for behavioural change health interventions. His research dissertation explored the factors that influence an educator’s attitude towards teaching RSE and led him to develop his work supporting and training RSE educators.
It will be free and offered live to all schools on Wednesday 11 February 15.45-17.15. A recording will be made available to our SCARF Schools via our SCARF Teacher Training Portal.
