Life Education Wiltshire reached: 10,896 children in 62 schools (2017/18)
Life Education Wiltshire started working in Wiltshire schools in 1997. The service is a charitable trust and is managed by volunteers, many of whom are Rotarians.
Our educator-led sessions and SCARF resources support schools to address the updated ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2018’ document and the RSE statutory requirements for 2020.
The Life Education Centre is a specially equipped classroom with two trained educators and it visits schools across Wiltshire on an annual basis. The programmes encourage children to be aware of the importance of looking after their bodies and developing the knowledge and skills to make healthy choices. Age appropriate information is discussed about keeping a healthy mind and body by exploring internet use and safety, the effect on the body of different drugs including medicines, alcohol, smoking and illegal drugs and how to make healthy informed choices and to develop a range of strategies to deal with peer influence and pressure.
Our sessions will be tailored to suit the needs of your children.
SCARF is the online PSHE and RSE resource, a year’s subscription included with the Life Education Centre visit, which equips teachers with the resources, lesson plans and assembly ideas to support children’s holistic development.
Supporting schools to become RSE ready We offer RSE educator lead sessions as an introduction to the RSE SCARF resources and are here to offer support to schools ready for the statutory requirements in 2020.
Parent and staff support We offer parent sessions, included with the cost of a visit, to share the work that we do and to answer any questions.
We offer staff SCARF sessions but can also tailor staff meetings to meet the needs of the school.
